The legend says that it was the gods who, on the backs of Ausangate, gave the man the alpaca. From that day it began a relationship that still lasts to this day; being the alpaca a fundamental pillar of the Andean society.
Their wool had a strong religious and social component in the Inca culture as it was a sign of social status. Their use was reserved only for the highest social classes due to their lightness, softness, warmth and extreme resistance. Only the most skilled craftsmen could weave this “fiber of the gods”.
Alpaca belongs to the textile group called “noble fibres” – a class exclusively saved for fabrics such as mohair, cashmere and angora; all considered among the most luxurious fabrics in the world due to, among others, the following characteristics: resistance and elasticity, softness and lightness, and thermal properties, and their high elasticity.
Our products require hand washing. Avoid contact with hot water and do not squeeze or mistreated fabric.
To preserve the original color of the products avoid drying it directly in the sun. Spread it out on a flat surface and hang it vertically to preserve its original shape.
Avoid ironing the product. If necessary, avoid direct contact of the iron with the fabric, using a towel on top to protect it..
